Privacy
We collect only the statistics needed to improve the portal and separate readers from bots and internal editorial activity.
What is recorded
Analytics records the viewed page address, language, search query, referring domain, a random browser identifier, and general device and browser-family information.
When a user is signed in, the event is linked to their account so registered readers can be counted separately from anonymous readers. Staff activity is also marked separately and excluded from reader metrics.
To distinguish bulk automation from ordinary reading, the IP address is immediately converted into a daily cryptographic fingerprint. The original IP address and full User-Agent are not stored in the analytics database; the same address receives a new value each day and no multi-day profile is built from it.
How statistics are used
A single anonymous view is not automatically counted as a person. Likely readers, known and suspected bots, and staff activity are shown separately. This information is used only to improve the portal, identify errors and protect the service.
Retention and user choice
Analytics events are retained for a limited period. Technical web-server logs needed for security and diagnostics may briefly contain an IP address and are rotated automatically. Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control signals disable analytics event creation.
